Honkai: Star Rail hits 100M downloads, rolls out Apple Vision Pro support

Honkai: Star Rail, the mobile title from Hoyoverse, has surpassed the 100 million download milestone. Its developer also announced that it’s rolling out support for the newly released Apple Vision Pro headset, so users may enjoy the game in the spatial computing world. Hoyoverse announced this only a short time before the game’s Version 2.0 launch, which goes live later tonight or tomorrow depending on the time zone.

The game has hit the 100 million downloads in less than a year since its launch last April. It’s won multiple awards since launch, including Best Mobile Game at The Game Awards, the A-Train Award for Best Mobile Game at the New York Game Awards, and top honors from both the Google Play Awards and the App Store Awards.

Hoyoverse also announced that it’s rolling out support for Apple’s Vision Pro headset. According to Apple, apps compatible with visionOS can run on the device, though they won’t necessarily provide the same experience as the native-built apps. They appear in a window within the user’s surroundings while they’re using the headset. Hoyoverse is releasing an FAQ on Apple Vision Pro compatibility later tonight.

Honkai: Star Rail’s latest update includes a new planet called Penacony, several new characters including the Black Swan and a new Trailblaze mission, which continues the main story. It’s the first Trailblaze mission since August. Hoyoverse is holding a special radio-style show called It’s Always Night in Penacony to celebrate the launch. Honkai: Star Rail will also be down for maintenance for a few hours before the 2.0 release.
